-
NEWS:
- The Dow gained some early points, rebounding slightly from the terrible performance of yesterday - consider the worst day on the market in 2 years.
- High oil prices (over US$3/gallon) are increasing demand for fuel efficient cars and alternative fuels.
- CNBC TV’s Morning Call program suggests that stocks of companies making digital cameras are hot, but I’d caution you to do your research. Other recent news suggests a downturn in sales for digital cameras for 2006, worldwide.
- Vonage (NYSE: VG) is being called one of the worst IPOs this year. They’ll be reimbursing underwriters and customers (the latter for service problems).
- Microsoft (NYSE: MSFT) stock has been relatively low lately, and they’ve got $35 Bln in cash. So when Steve Ballmer appeared in New York today, shareholders suggested he implement a share-buyback program. Ballmer didn’t commit either way, saying that Microsoft has already paid investors a variety of dividends.
