Is the Economy Recovering or Not?

While some experts claim the economy is showing signs of recovery and that the DOW could hit 14,000 again within 18 months, others think the bear market will be deep and long, possibly extending into the next decade. This latter market prediction comes from Robert Prechter, an expert stock picker.

So much for positive thinking, that our lives are going to improve. Fortunately, not everyone is as pessimistic.

U.S. Economy on the Rise?

Some experts are saying that the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) could potentially hit 14,000 within 18 months. Of course, this sort of news often spurs investors into action, quickening the pace. My own prediction has been that if Obama got elected President (and he did), that the economy would eventually be thriving like it was during President Bill Clinton’s time in office.

Now, the DOW already hit 14,000 back in Aug 2007. At the time of this writing, it’s about 9400+. Here’s to hoping that we go back to former levels of widespread prosperity, but maybe learn some lesson from this recession.
